Current mood: anxious

So, yeah, worried....
So, yeah. Friend of mine was sitting directly in the path of Hurricane Katrina. A lot of us were telling him to get the hell out of Dodge...but he wouldn't leave his mother (she has cancer). So now all of us are kind of sitting here. Waiting. Wondering.

He had my cell phone number. I doubt he still does, though, given the carnage down there. So all we get to do is just sit. Wait. Wonder.

I heard from him last night -- he and his folks are all right; there wasn't any flooding where he was (which is amazing, since he's only 7 miles away from the city).

Thank you - I am so glad to hear that! I hope they'll do all right with the food and water situation. The news and images coming out of there are horrible. We were in New Orleans a month ago - to see what has happened to it over the last few days seems so unreal.
